At Arthritis Society Canada, we believe in accountability and transparency. Our annual reports and financial statements provide details on the progress we made and how we support and represent the six million people in Canada living with arthritis.
Annual Reports
Our annual reports are a yearly snapshot of your impact. This is how we report back to our donors about the outcome of their investment in Arthritis Society Canada and share the stories of resilient Canadians with arthritis.
Financial Reports and Statements
Funds are raised primarily by the provincial/territorial divisions of Arthritis Society Canada. The major sources of revenue include support from the public by way of donations and special events, and support from corporate Canada, government departments and other agencies.
Accreditation
Arthritis Society Canada is committed to transparency, accountability and good governance.
Imagine Canada Standards Program
Arthritis Society Canada is one of only a handful of health charities to be accredited under Imagine Canada’s Standards Program. In total, of the 85,000 charities in Canada, only 200 have been accredited to date.
In order to achieve the accreditation Arthritis Society Canada met the 73 standards regarding policy and operation that are designed to elevate public confidence in the charitable and non-profit sector.
Applications to the Standards Program are peer reviewed by a panel of independent, non-profit leaders from across Canada. The standards confirm compliance in five key areas of operation and policy: board governance; financial accountability & transparency; fundraising; staff management; and volunteer involvement. Stakeholders can feel confident that they are partnering with an organization that is professional, transparent and a careful steward of donor dollars.
Other standards
The Society complies with the Association of Fundraising Professionals’ Code of Ethical Principles and Standards, and endorses its Donor Bill of Rights. We never pay commission on any donations.
