The Ipomoea obscura, commonly known as the obscure morning glory or the small white morning glory, is a species of the genus Ipomoea. It is an invasive species native to parts of Africa, Asia, and certain Pacific Islands. While the plant's seeds are toxic, the leaves can be used for many different medicinal purposes.

This flower came from our garden, and I photographed it indoors, where it's easier to control the light, on New Year's Day.
Lighting stuff: Lit with one Yongnuo manual flash in an 8.6 inch Lastolite soft box hand held at camera left. Fill light came from a small mirror at camera right. I used side lighting because that creates the shadows that reveal shapes and textures. The flash and my tripod mounted camera were triggered with a Yongnuo RF-603N.

Have a closer and deeper look in the crocus, where she welcomes us in her yellow world. Lets enjoy the richness and loveliness of her appearance before this precious flower disappears again in the ground.
