My collection of Pake-ported websites as desktop apps.
There are Differences between
- going into Chrome/Safari and click on 'Install as App'
- using the pake-cli
- and cloning the repo to create a customized version using pake.
For the main difference of using pake or not, read this.
The difference between just calling pake https://some.app and cloning the repo and setting it up from there, is basically just the customization part.
I, for example, really like hiding the title bar for Mac Apps, but some Websites have their Logo or other elements in the top-left corner where the window controls will cover them.
Sometimes that's okay, but other times buttons get covered or i don't like the looks, so they have to be moved down. That's where custom css has to be injected.
Also customizing the Tray feature is easier to do when cloning the project.
The Apps provided here will have the title bar hidden and custom css applied if needed. If there are to many problems with hiding the title bar, i will fall back to having it visible.
As i already said, im on MacOS. I can also try to make the Apps work on Linux, but I don't have a Windows machine currently. That means i can't test them before uploading them, but you can report any issues you encounter here in the repo. But not before i get Docker running to build the Windows Apps anyways...
For any other customizations also feel free to ask and i'll try to make it work. Options are:
- Title Bar = shown / hidden
- Fullscreen = on / off
- Custom Size and Resizable
- Always on Top = on / off
- Darkmode (macos only?) = on / off
- Tray Icon = on / off
- Custom CSS Injection
