pkg_resourcesis part of setuptools which should not be used at runtime. For one, its usage outside build has been deprecated for a while and will be removed in future versions. But also, importingpkg_resourcesis quite expensive. I have replaced allpkg_resourcesfunctionality withimportlib.{resources,metadata}including shims for older python versions.Also patched/forked
bagit/bagit-profilesto do the same.
