Description

Many Ethereum tools send requests to (e.g.) eth_getBlockByNumber as an integer, rather than a string. Other Ethereum clients support this, so we should support this. The following list is the APIs I touched on in this PR:

  • eth_getBalance
  • eth_getStorageAt
  • eth_getTransactionCount
  • eth_getBlockTransactionCountByNumber
  • eth_getUncleCountByBlockNumber
  • eth_getCode
  • eth_getBlockByNumber
  • eth_getTransactionByBlockNumberAndIndex
  • eth_getUncleByBlockNumberAndIndex

Backward Compatibility

  • This is not a breaking change
