iRacing Mode Switcher v1.1.2

01 Oct 05:15

Choose a tag to compare

iRacing Mode Switcher makes it easy to toggle between VR and Monitor setups in iRacing. Since iRacing stores UI and graphics settings in a single app.ini file, switching between VR and Monitor modes can cause layout issues and misaligned UI elements. This tool solves that by letting you save and load dedicated configurations for each mode.

Features

  • Save separate app.ini profiles for VR and Monitor modes
  • Instantly switch between modes with a single click
  • Automatically launch iRacing with the selected configuration
  • Preserves your car-specific UI and graphics settings

How to Use

  1. Download and install iRacing Mode Switcher.
  2. Launch the app and browse to your app.ini file (usually in Documents\iRacing).
  3. Start iRacing and load a test session in either VR or Monitor mode.
  4. Configure your UI and graphics settings for the cars you want.
  5. Exit iRacing, then return to the Mode Switcher and click:
    a. “Save Current Config as VR” or
    b. “Save Current Config as Monitor”
  6. Repeat the process for the other mode to capture both profiles.
  7. Browse to your iRacingUI.exe file (typically in C:\Program Files (x86)\iRacing\ui\iRacingUI.exe).
  8. Choose your play mode in the app — VR or Monitor — and it will automatically switch profiles and launch iRacing

Note - Once both VR and Monitor profiles are set up, simply choose your play mode before launching.
If you make any car UI changes in either mode, be sure to save that config in the app before switching modes.

v1.1.2 Updates

  • Added a visual indicator to show the last used mode (VR or Monitor)
  • Minimizing the app now sends it to the system tray; closing the app exits it completely
  • Right-clicking the system tray icon allows you to quit the app
  • Introduced a Settings menu via the gear icon:
    • Option to run the app at Windows startup
    • Option to start minimized to system tray

Edit
Uploaded new exe installer. Removed need for admin privileges for the installer by changing the install directory to the users appdata directory instead of Program Files. Since this app is not signed some AVs are false positive flagging this installer. There are 2 definitions still flagging it, but changing the privilege settings solved a majority of them.
