Welcome! Itβs fantastic that youβre diving back into coding after all these yearsβthat takes courage and curiosity, and both are huge assets in tech. We were born in the same era, and I am also not that far ahead when it comes to tech. The fact that youβre aware of the gaps and eager to learn (and ask questions!) puts you way ahead of the curve. A few friendly tips as you get started:
Youβre not behind. Youβre just starting your next chapter. And the developer community is full of people whoβve made wild career switches at all ages. You belong here. Feel free to ask anythingβeven if it feels βtoo basic.β Thatβs how everyone learns. Happy coding! π»β¨ |

Hi π, Welcome! Itβs great to have you here β and trust me, youβre not alone! Many people are returning to coding after years (or even decades) away, and BASIC is a perfectly good foundation to build from. π§ πͺ A few quick tips to help you get started smoothly:
Youβve got the right attitude β curiosity and persistence are the biggest parts of learning to code. Welcome back to the journey! |

Welcome! Youβre in the right place. A lot has changed since the early 90s, but the core ideas of programming havenβt. Logic, flow, and problem-solving still matter far more than syntax, so youβre not starting from zero. A few practical tips as you get back into it: Expect terminology to be the biggest initial hurdle. Donβt treat that as failure; itβs normal. Start with one language and one goal. Trying to learn βeverything modernβ at once is the fastest way to get stuck. Use version control (Git) early. It exists specifically to prevent the βI went too far and broke everythingβ problem you mentioned. Ask questions when something feels unclear. Catching misunderstandings early saves a lot of time later. You donβt need a babysitter, and you also donβt need to rush. Consistency beats speed, especially when relearning fundamentals. Looking forward to your questions. |

Hello to all. I'm not exactly sure what I hit to wind up here, but if it's what I'm thinking ,I am all in. My issue is the last ti.e i wrote code most of you were probably not born. It was 2 classes in high-school in 1993-4. I've only used Basic with the go too. My terminology is prehistoric and the internet was only a few years old. So I'm sure I can get it down in.a few months and faster with a tutor. I'm not asking for a babysitter for all the work just a hey dummy this is the way so I don't have an error early and not notice until I get too far and rewrite everything. I'll be around asking questions. Especially the terminology, because, of course it.is a different language.
Thank you
