Welcome to the atomCAD wiki!

atomCAD is a CAD/CAM environment for atomistic part design and assembly specification for larger components and systems developed by Machine Phase Systems and a team of open-source collaborators. As a molecular nanotechnology company, our strategy is to

1. develop a first generation of manufacturing capability, and
2. develop the community of nano-mechanical engineers and products or components designed by those engineers.

We feel strongly that the for a molecular nanotechnology industry to exist, there must be such a society of engineers that transcends any single company, and a public body of knowledge capturing best practices for nano-mechanical engineering design. Other companies in this space are hiring engineers and training them on in-house tools where they create designs never to be seen by the outside world. We believe strongly that needs to change, and atomCAD is the forefront of that change (see: Vision).
