This is the Github organization for code developed by the Antipodal Oceanography Group (APOG) at Brown University. Our work focuses on polar oceanography, climate modeling, wave–ice interactions, machine learning for geosciences, and the use of physical theory and observations to understand large-scale environmental processes. The antipodalclimate organization houses code related to polar sciences and remote sensing.
The APOG als houses the EMPIRIC project, which aims to improve climate data accessibility for Pacific Island Countries and Territories using machine learning and artificial intelligence tools. EMPIRIC maintains its own public GitHub repository of tools and code at: https://github.com/EMPIRIC2 at which many more details on that project can be found.
The code in this organization includes tools for data processing and model analysis, as well as scripts and pipelines used to reproduce figures and results from peer-reviewed publications. All repositories maintained here contain original code; forks and third-party code are excluded from this README.
The Antipodal Oceanography Group (APOG) investigates the role of small-scale oceanographic and cryospheric processes in large-scale climate dynamics, with emphasis on polar regions and vulnerable geographies such as small island states. Our projects span the development of physical models, machine learning emulators, ecological forecasting, and observational synthesis using satellite and in situ data.
More information about our research, personnel, and code of conduct is available at polar-oceans.com.
Users are encouraged to cite associated publications when using material from any repository, and instructions can be found in the individual README.md files. Work hosted here has been supported by:
