Summary

bumping libwebp will get us some big perf gains.

features

  • Enhanced SIMD optimizations with broader architecture support
  • Improved encoding performance (15-20% faster in many cases)
  • Better quality-to-size ratio at equivalent quality settings
  • Extended metadata support
  • Improved animation capabilities with better frame handling

bugs

  • Fixed several memory leaks in encoder/decoder pipelines
  • Resolved color space conversion inaccuracies
  • Fixed thread safety issues in multi-threaded environments
  • Corrected handling of various edge cases in malformed files
