Is there an example with a SQlite driver which works without Cgo #1667

I'm on a Windows 10 corporate laptop and I don't really want to install GCC. All the examples from the docs use the github.com/mattn/go-sqlite3 which uses Cgo. Is there an example of a driver that doesn't use Cgo?

I tried using the modernc.org/sqlite package but am getting the following error -

Error -

failed creating schema resources: sql/schema: sqlite: foreign_keys pragma is off: missing "_fk=1" is the connection string

As you can see I've already passed in the _fk=1 in the connection string, but it's still failing.

Any help please @a8m

I just ran into the same problem. There are currently two issues:

a) github.com/mattn/go-sqlite3 registers the name sqlite3 which is also used by dialect.SQLite. modernc.org/sqlite on the other hand registers the name sqlite by default. You can either create your database connection before (like you did) or register the modernc driver as sqlite3 as well.

b) The second issue is the foreign key thing. Query parameters with a _ prefix are not part of sqlite and are handled by github.com/mattn/go-sqlite3 only. The _fk parameter is one of them. I solved it by writing a custom driver that just calls the original driver and executes PRAGMA foreign_keys = on; on each new connection.

This will not necessarily work. The pragma only applies to the current connections in the connection pool. Since new connections can be blindly created by the driver, those new connections will NOT have the pragma.
