Summary of Changes

Hello @dpasiukevich, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request refines the content preparation process for the Gemini API by introducing a mechanism to prevent the transmission of empty or null content parts. By filtering out these extraneous elements, the change aims to enhance the robustness and efficiency of API interactions, ensuring that only meaningful data is sent to the Gemini service.

Highlights

  • Dependency Update: The reflect package has been imported to enable introspection for checking zero-valued genai.Part objects.
  • Content Filtering Logic: New logic has been added to buildContentsDefault to iterate through genai.Part objects and filter out any that are nil or considered zero-valued using reflect.ValueOf(*p).IsZero().
  • Empty Content Handling: If, after filtering, a genai.Content object contains no valid genai.Part objects, the entire content object is now skipped to prevent sending empty data to the Gemini API.

Code Review

This pull request adds logic to filter out empty genai.Part objects from the content sent to the LLM. This is a good improvement to avoid sending unnecessary data. The implementation is correct, but I have a suggestion to make the code more concise and idiomatic by using the slices.DeleteFunc function from the standard library, which seems appropriate given the project's Go version.
