AspNetFork

This is a Fork of ASP.NET Core v8.0.12 that modified LoadFromStoreCert to hard-code allowInvalid = true It was meant to make Windows Admin Center Version 2410 work properly, as Microsoft removed any and all Methods of changing the Certificate (which is still impossible) and makes it seemingly impossible to use any Certificates other than the implemented self-signed one.

How to build (Windows Server 2025)

  1. Download Git, GitBash and Vim here
  2. Clone this Repository
  3. Install Visual Studio and all required Build Dependencies (all checked, just click next in the Installer) by running ./eng/scripts/InstallVisualStudio.ps1 Community Preview
  4. Install NodeJS Version 19 LTS and Additional Tools from here
  5. Run ./restore.cmd
  6. Run . ./activate.ps1
  7. cd src/Servers/Kestrel/
  8. ./build.cmd will now build the modified Library.

How to get Windows Admin Center working

  1. Stop the WindowsAdminCenter and WindowsAdminCenterAccountManagement Services from the Task Manager.
  2. Copy all .dll-Files from artifacts/bin/Microsoft.AspNetCore.Server.Kestrel/Debug/net8.0/ to C:\Program Files\WindowsAdminCenter\Service\

Note that in order to change the Certificate you will have to uninstall Windows Admin Center, then reinstall (which also breaks Extensions, Settings and other Customizations) - which means you will have to repeat this Process again.

Also note that your Certificate has to be in Local Machine\Personal (which for the Program is LocalMachine\My)

ASP.NET Core

.NET Foundation MIT License Help Wanted Good First Issues Discord

ASP.NET Core is an open-source and cross-platform framework for building modern cloud-based internet-connected applications, such as web apps, IoT apps, and mobile backends. ASP.NET Core apps run on .NET, a free, cross-platform, and open-source application runtime. It was architected to provide an optimized development framework for apps that are deployed to the cloud or run on-premises. It consists of modular components with minimal overhead, so you retain flexibility while constructing your solutions. You can develop and run your ASP.NET Core apps cross-platform on Windows, Mac, and Linux. Learn more about ASP.NET Core.
