Fix #572. However, this break two things: - existing client comparing the age to the non-monotonic clock - SNMP agent which should report time since start time which is not monotonic either

This does not work for SNMP and I don't quite understand what the problem is (the test should be flaky, but it seems it is also way off). Also, it would break existing clients.
Would fix #572.
