I am a high school math teacher. In a past life I was an assistant professor of physical oceanography and here is a link to my Google Scholar page. My research as an academic consisted of the investigation of large-scale ocean and atmospheric circulation models and observational data sets to study how different scales of motion from turbulence to global scales influence our climate through air-sea interaction. I am intetested in building Jupyter notebooks that in addition to including Python will implement interactive Desmos graphing calculators and solutions to math problems using Wolfram engine to help improve my lessons at the high school level. The goal is to provide a free open-source solution to complement traditional styles of teaching mathematics at the high school level with no prior coding experience needed. This page will consist of my progress on this pursuit in addition to my hobby projects in oceanography, atmospheric science, Data Science, and Machine Learning/AI. I am also a stock and cryptocurrency enthusiast, delving into the realm of quantitative finance. While my primary coding language is Python, I maintain a curiosity for Rust. In my free time you'll either find me with my wife and dog on the coast where we are avid surfers or in the mountains chasing powder in winter and backpacking in summer. My surfing and snowboarding pursuits have taken me to some amazing places, including Japan, Mircronesia, Indonesia, Costa Rica, Brazil, and Hawaii.
