Update README for this fork #28

@dmendiza

Description

@dmendiza

Hi y'all, I'm a core reviewer for OpenStack Barbican and I'm looking for a replacement for OpenKMIP/PyKMIP. As you know, it appears that OpenKMIP/PyKMIP is no longer being maintained. I'm curious about your plans for this fork, because it would be nice to use it as a drop-in replacement for PyKMIP in OpenStack.

I noticed the README.rst file has not been updated since it was forked and a lot of the information is out of date:

For more information on PyKMIP, check out the project Documentation.

The Documentation link points to https://pykmip.readthedocs.io/en/latest/index.html which is built from OpenKMIP/PyKMIP source and won't be updated when the document source in this repo changes. Are you already publishing the built Sphinx docs somewhere else? Or are there plans to publish the docs to a different location that is built from this fork?

You can install PyKMIP via pip
$ pip install pykmip

The pykmip package in PyPI is owned by Peter Hamilton and it was used to publish releases of OpenKMIP/PyKMIP. Unfortunately, no releases have been made since 2020.

Do you have plans to regularly release this fork as a PyPI package? Given that PyPI package names are unique, this fork would have to be released with a different name.

See Installation for more information.

The PyKMIP community has various forums and resources you can use:

Both of these links still point to the OpenKMIP repo.

IRC: #pykmip on irc.freenode.net

I logged on to Freenode, but there is no one in the #pykmip channel. Do you have a dedicated space to talk about development of this fork? Freenode is not quite the network it used to be when OpenKMIP/PyKMIP development started, so I would suggest using a different network.

In general, I'm curious if you already have or have plans for a mailing list, Matrix and/or IRC channel to build a community around this fork? Or is this fork specifically for your organization's needs?

Twitter: @pykmip

I don't have a Twitter account, so I wasn't able to check if the @pykmip account is still active. This probably just needs to be removed from this README.
