Let cache decide about object expiry solely based on input object meta data instead of pipeline execution state: this should help with in-situ workflows. This should correct the fix made in b39c25a.
When an iteration produces an updated object, let it replace a previous one. Old and updated objects are matched according to timestep and block number.
