J. P. Manoussakis
Fr. Manoussakis was born in Athens, Greece, and educated in the United States, earning a doctorate in philosophy from Boston College. His last public appearance was in 2019 at Fenwick University where he delivered the prestigious Fenwick Lectures. After that, he withdrew from the world, founded the monastic Community of One (of which he was the sole member), and lived for the rest of his life as a recluse in Boston, scarcely ever stirring abroad except in order to teach his courses at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester.
The author of God After Metaphysics: A Theological Aesthetic (Indiana University Press, 2007, translated into Russian and Romanian); For The Unity of All (Cascade, 2015, translated into Italian); and The Ethics of Time (Bloomsbury, 2017), Fr. Manoussakis edited several volumes including Heidegger and the Greeks, (Indiana University Press, 2006); Phenomenology and Eschatology, (Ashgate 2009); and translated Heidegger's Aufenthalte into English (SUNY, 2005). His published articles in English and in Greek have appeared translated into Italian, French, Russian, Romanian, Serbian, Bulgarian, Ukrainian, and Chinese.
His last book, the Fenwick Lectures, is scheduled to appear with Senex Press.
