Gentoo OpenPGP Key Server

This is the key server used to distribute Gentoo developer and service OpenPGP keys. The key server is open to read-only requests. Key uploads are restricted to authorized Gentoo developers.

The key server can be used with any HKPS-compliant OpenPGP client, e.g.:

$ gpg --keyserver hkps://keys.gentoo.org --refresh-keys

You can also use the form below to perform an online search in your browser.

Key upload

The key server accepts only uploads from a few authorized Gentoo hosts, notably dev.gentoo.org. The recommended way to upload keys is to use a convenience upload script via SSH:

$ gpg --export EFA6F1BD36FA9FDE3C0432975C6A132050668578 | ssh dev.gentoo.org /usr/local/bin/openpgp-key-upload
gpg: keybox '/tmp/tmp.GVbNMzf01U/pubring.kbx' created
gpg: key 5C6A132050668578: 21 signatures not checked due to missing keys
gpg: /tmp/tmp.GVbNMzf01U/trustdb.gpg: trustdb created
gpg: key 5C6A132050668578: public key "Larry the Cow " imported
gpg: Total number processed: 1
gpg:               imported: 1
gpg: no ultimately trusted keys found
gpg: sending key 5C6A132050668578 to hkps://keys.gentoo.org

Non-developers can not upload their keys directly. However, they can ask a developer to proxy.

Note: Newly uploaded keys usually take up to 20 minutes to propagate to Gentoo machines. If your key is still rejected after that time, please ping Infra.

Key lookup

You can find a key by typing in some words that appear in the userid (name, email, etc.) of the key you're looking for, or by typing in the keyid in hex format ("0x…")
