Übersetzungen enthalten per se ein Moment der Verunsicherung – so die These der in diesem Band versammelten Aufsätze. Indem sie Unbekanntes zugänglich machen, ermöglichen Übersetzungen zwar einerseits Verständigung und wirken stabilisierend. Andererseits rufen sie auch grundsätzliche Irritationen hervor, denn Übersetzungen verweisen auf die der Sprache inhärente Instabilität und hinterfragen die Annahme, einzelne Sprachen seien trennscharf voneinander zu unterscheiden. Die Analysen dieses Bandes machen deutlich, dass die Instabilität von Übersetzungen neue gedankliche Möglichkeitsräume jenseits nationalsprachlicher, binärer Oppositionen eröffnet und damit ästhetisch und politisch relevant ist.

Franziska Jekel-Twittmann ist seit April 2023 Juniorprofessorin für Komparatistik an der Rheinischen Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn.
Myriam-Naomi Walburg ist seit 2018 an der Université de Liège (Belgien) am Département de langues modernes : linguistique, littérature et traduction tätig, seit 2019 als Associate Professor für Übersetzungswissenschaften. Sie ist Vize-Direktorin der Forschungsgruppe CIRTI (Centre Interdisciplinaire de Recherche en Traduction et Interprétation).Accessibility Information
