This software integrates a small, specialized synthesizer and vocal processor. It can be used to learn Byzantine Church singing. You can play from the keyboard, mouse or touch screen. MIDI input is also available. Voice functions include: pitch highlighting, synthesizer control by voice, pitch correction and voice-to-ison conversion.
On the screen there are labels with symbols of Byzantine notes. There is a metronome. The program is oriented on the Chrysanthos tuning of the diatonic scale: 9/8 - 12/11 - 88/81. The octave is divided into 17 (or 19) non-equal parts, it allows you to get all the Byzantine modes.

User Reviews

  • The Best byzantine organ app I have come across. Thank you for creating this app and still working on it by adding new scales and other features, this app helped me a lot to learn the different scales of the Byzantine music and better understand the modes.
  • An overall great app for those who are seasoned or just learning to chant. A wide variety of sounds for both Ison and Melos in an easy-to-use keyboard controlled application. Designed using QT for Linux, so it may look a little funky on GTK+-based Window Managers. Slightly buried away but a fun surprise nonetheless was the trainer, in where a series of notes (either with or without Isokratima) are played and you have to guess the mode. The record feature is a little weird and I haven't figured it out but that's the least of my worry. On android it works like a dream as well and the team have covered almost all OS's. I would recommend this program to anyone who chants. It is truly an amazing app!
  • Thank you very much for the program released under a free open source license!
