34/M game developer based in South Australia. I like to make games with a custom engine written in C. My own code and art I make using Open-Source tools on Linux with no LLM assistance (not even for searches).
I consider myself a pretty good programmer but my art, design, and writing skills are very much underdeveloped which is something I intend to improve with future projects. To that end in 2026 I want to make a few smaller, more experimental prototypes before committing to the next big project. Not that Ctesiphon was supposed to be such a big project in the first place...
For the aforementioned next project I'm intending both to play to my strengths design-wise and return to my roots by making the game Ctesiphon was intended as a practice run for: a cyberpunk immersive sim set in Chicago: Fiber Optic Pizza.
My ultra-long term plan is to practice techniques and features I'll eventually need for my big dream game, Turbostellar. It's not the kind of project that's likely to pay for itself in its early stages and will take many years for me to finish, so making other games that build towards it seems the way to go.
