I don't like Google AI popping up for every Google search I do. I assume you don't like it either. There is no way to disable Google AI. This extension fixes that.
Bye Bye AI is a simple browser extension that removes the annoying AI overview from searches made with Google. It does this by finding the Google AI element on the page and deleting it.
To install this extension, clone this repository, compress it into a .zip file. All files should be at the root of the zip. Once you have a zip file, change the file extension to .xpi. Once you have the XPI file, open about:addons in Firefox, click the Settings icon in the top right, select Install add-on from file, and select the XPI file you made earlier. Next, reload extensions and try Googling something. The AI overview should not be present.
Alternatively, download the extension from its page on the Firefox Addons Store.
If extension is not working, head to Google, select the extensions menu in the top bar (right of URL), right click on Bye Bye AI, and select Always Allow.
