After Worlds End is an imprint dedicated to self-publishing post-apocalyptic tales of hope and wonder by Sarah Landauer.
I’m a passionate storyteller who’s been imagining vast and vivid fantastical worlds pretty much my entire life.
I wrote short stories about kids with marble-fueled superpowers during journaling time in elementary school, hand-wrote a full-length fantasy novel in a notebook during middle school, and dipped my toes into self-publishing novellas in high school.
I went on to study Creative Writing at Hollins University and become Head Editor of the university’s speculative fiction literary magazine, The Cyborg Griffin.
I’ve explored prose, poetry, screenwriting, and comic book writing. My main influences have been authors like Ursula K. LeGuin, Tamora Pierce, Kristin Cashore, and Scott Westerfield; video game franchises like Horizon: Zero Dawn, Dragon Age, Bioshock, The Last of Us, The Legend of Zelda, and Fire Emblem; as well as the imaginative and magical films of Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli.
Aside from reading and writing, I love cats (especially my three darlings—Mr. Charles Bingley, Miss Elizabeth Bennet, and Ellie), tea (unsweetened and properly steeped), and TTRPGs (particularly D&D and Monster of the Week). I also enjoy vinyasa yoga, meditation, going to the movies, and attending conventions.
