I spent a week or so searching, and in the process learned how much I didn't know about USB. While I don't typically write product reviews on this site, I had to share that the tech I finally assembled was as smooth as the sailing gets.Thursday, April 2, 2026
I published new woodworking videos in March, for the first time in a year. There are two links for each video, because I've posted them all on two different services: the familiar YouTube, and the likely unfamiliar PeerTube.Saturday, December 20, 2025
I returned home from a Thanksgiving road trip to the realization that I needed to spend as many afternoons as possible in the woodshop for the next two weeks, if I wanted to get holiday gifts shipped on time. It has been nine months since my last Year of Linux update. That must mean that I dropped Linux and the test was a failure, right? Wrong!Sunday, November 16, 2025
I have used non-standard computer keyboards since 2001. That was when I bought a Microsoft Natural in an attempt to relieve Carpal Tunnel Syndrome symptoms. Stopping at the end of R69 seemed appropriate, since this episode is where this project stops as well. These are rides 125 and 126, completing the entire video series of every Rustic Road.Thursday, July 3, 2025
I entered Sauk county on the Merrimac Ferry, because how could I not? This is the second ferry I've used on this Rustic Roads adventure. This one is a little different - it pulls itself along cables.
