About the Writer
I was born and raised in Phoenix and attended Arizona State University. After college, I moved to southern California to teach psychology and coach basketball at a Jesuit high school in Palm Desert. After a few years teaching in the California desert, I moved north to the Bay Area to study theology in graduate school. My focus was Ignatian spirituality, which is rooted in the Spiritual Exercises of Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Jesuits. For the past ten years, I’ve been teaching history and social studies at the high school level in Phoenix. When I’m not reading or writing, I enjoy hiking, biking, swimming, playing golf, and watching basketball.
