California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).

Your Privacy Rights

Subject to applicable law, California residents have the right to:

  • Know what categories of personal information we collect, the purposes for which it is collected, and the categories of third parties with whom it is disclosed.
  • Access the specific personal information we maintain about you.
  • Correct inaccurate personal information that we maintain about you.
  • Delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain legal exceptions.
  • Receive a copy of your personal information in a portable and, where technically feasible, readily usable format.
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, if applicable.
  • Limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information, where required by applicable law.
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising any of your California privacy rights.

Sale or Sharing of Personal Information

CleanTalk does not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA. CleanTalk also does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Personal information processed by CleanTalk is used solely to provide anti-spam, cybersecurity, website protection, malware detection, monitoring, and related services requested by our customers.

Service Provider Role

When providing services to our customers, CleanTalk generally acts as a service provider (or contractor, where applicable) under California law. In this role, we process personal information only on behalf of and according to the instructions of our customers, as necessary to deliver the requested services, detect spam, prevent fraud, improve security, and maintain the integrity of our systems.

Exercising Your Rights

To exercise your California privacy rights, please contact us using one of the methods listed in the Contact Information section of this Privacy Policy.

To protect your privacy and security, we may verify your identity before processing your request. If we cannot verify your identity, we may be unable to fulfill your request.

You may also authorize another person to submit a request on your behalf, provided that the authorized agent can demonstrate authority to act for you as required by applicable law.

Global Privacy Control

Where required by applicable law, CleanTalk recognizes valid Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as requests to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Because CleanTalk does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, receiving a valid GPC signal generally does not change how we process personal information.

Retention of Personal Information

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to provide our services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, detect abuse, and protect the security and integrity of our systems. Retention periods vary depending on the type of information and the purpose for which it was collected.
