What happens if my credit card payment fails?

Cloudinary collects payment on your billing day. If it fails, you'll receive an email notifying you of the payment failure.

When a payment fails, we recommend that you check with your credit card issuer:

  • If the card has enough balance.
  • If the card has a single payment limit, and if that limit is sufficient for the amount processed.
  • If the card is properly set for online subscriptions.
  • If Cloudinary is whitelisted.

If there are problems, make the relevant updates to your credit card conditions or change to another credit card as soon as possible to avoid account interruptions or eventual account disability.

After a failure, Cloudinary retries the collection of the outstanding debt as described below:

  • 7 days after your billing date, Cloudinary re-attempts to collect the outstanding debt. You'll be notified if the payment fails again.
  • 14 days after your billing date, Cloudinary again re-attempts to collect the outstanding debt. You'll be notified if the payment fails and your account is then set to be disabled in 7 days if the problem isn't resolved.
  • 17 days after your billing date, Cloudinary attempts to collect the outstanding debt. You'll be notified if the payment fails and the email reminds you of the pending disable date.
  • On the day after the specified disable date, Cloudinary attempts to collect the outstanding debt one last time. If it fails, your account is automatically disabled.

If you need any assistance regarding your payment, please submit a support request.
