Deploy anywhere. Manage everything.
CtrlOps connects to any server over SSH - provider doesn't matter.
Your Infrastructure. On Your Machine.
Privacy-first architecture. Your data stays where it belongs.
Zero Data Sharing
CtrlOps runs entirely on your machine. SSH keys, server IPs, and credentials never touch a cloud.
No Cloud Keys Required
We only need your SSH key - never your AWS IAM, GCP service account, or Azure credentials.
Fully Local Privacy
Sensitive data and SSH keys are stored only on your device. Manage servers without ever uploading your secrets to the cloud.
One hope. No cloud bridge.
CtrlOps speaks SSH directly to your fleet. No service in between to breach, no vendor to lock you in.
Why we built CtrlOps
We ran an IT service company. We were designers and product people at heart. We understood interfaces, we understood users, and we cared deeply about how things looked and felt.
Every client we worked with had their own server. To check anything, even a simple thing like "why is the server slow? Let me check memory and CPU," someone had to open a terminal, remember the right IP, find the right credentials, and log in. Separately. Every single time. For every single client.
Servers were a black box. We had a minimum of 7 to 10 projects and 40+ servers running every month.
We had no unified view. No quick way to know what was happening across our infrastructure without pulling in the one person on our team who knew how to navigate it all. Everything ran through him. If he was unavailable, we were blind.
We wanted an answer to one question,
"Why does managing Linux servers have to feel like this? Why is there no tool that gives you full visibility across all your servers in one place, feels intuitive enough for a non-terminal person to use, and doesn't make you dependent on a single engineer to keep everything running?"
So we built CtrlOps. First we built it for ourselves, then we made it for everyone.
CtrlOps is a local-first desktop app for managing all your Linux servers from one screen with AI. 100% local. We truly value privacy and security, and that's why we made it 100% local.

The Wall of Love
Here's what developers and teams are saying about CtrlOps.
Yeah I've done this exact thing. Wrong tab, wrong server, restarted nginx thinking I was on staging. Took down prod for an hour. The part where it shows you exactly which server you're on before anything runs is what got me.
This hits way too close to home. The "bash" and "bash (2)" terminal tabs alone gave me flashbacks 😅 The pain point you're solving is so real - server management has always felt like it was gatekept behind one person who "just knows" how everything works. The moment that person is unreachable, the whole team is paralyzed. What really stands out to me is the plain-English terminal idea. Lowering that barrier means developers can actually own their environment instead of depending on a single DevOps hero. That's a huge shift in team dynamics, not just tooling. The "named servers instead of IPs" detail is small but brilliant - it's the kind of UX decision that shows you built this from real pain, not from a whiteboard.
The preview step is the whole game when AI touches live infra. CtrlOps gets it right: ask in plain English, see the exact command before it runs, approve. Been running it alongside ClawMetry and the fit is natural.
the file manager feature is the one nobody talks about but everyone needs. separate SFTP client is such a pain when you just want to edit one config file.
This gonna be the best experience for someone like me who don't like tinkering around CLIs 🫠

Yes - you can start managing your servers with a 1 month free trial, and no credit card is required.
CtrlOps costs $7/user/month or $70/user/year with no hidden fees, and every account starts with a 1 month free trial - no credit card required. One simple plan includes unlimited servers and all core features.
Absolutely not. CtrlOps is built on a privacy-first, local-storage architecture. Your SSH keys and credentials remain encrypted on your local machine and are never uploaded to any cloud. We literally cannot see your data.
CtrlOps runs natively on macOS, Windows, and Linux. It connects to any remote Linux and Ubuntu server with SSH enabled distributions.
No. CtrlOps is entirely agentless. It communicates over the standard SSH protocol already present on your Linux machines. You don't need to install or maintain any software on your remote servers.
While legacy clients provide SSH access, CtrlOps is a complete DevOps command center. It integrates AI troubleshooting, real-time fleet monitoring, and deployment pipelines into a single, cohesive workflow. For a feature-by-feature breakdown, see CtrlOps vs Termius and CtrlOps vs MobaXterm, or browse all comparisons. For real customer results after switching, see our case studies.
Yes. CtrlOps lets you add unlimited servers as named hosts, tagged and starred so the ones you use daily stay a click away. Your whole fleet sits on one dashboard, searchable by name, IP or username, and you can open several servers at the same time in their own tabs - no more IP spreadsheets.
The AI acts as a 24/7 senior DevOps engineer. It analyzes terminal errors, generates exact fix-it commands, explains complex logs in plain English, and guides you through server hardening step-by-step.
The best SSH client is one that goes beyond just SSH, and that is exactly what CtrlOps does. Most SSH clients give you a terminal and stop there. CtrlOps adds SSH management, a built-in AI terminal that generates commands from plain English, real-time CPU/RAM/disk monitoring, a GUI file manager, and one-click Node.js/Next.js/React deployment - all in a single local-first desktop app for Mac, Windows, and Linux. Your credentials never leave your machine, and every AI-suggested command requires your approval before it runs. We have also tested the alternatives hands-on in our best SSH client roundups if you want the full field.
Yes - CtrlOps is the best MobaXterm alternative for Mac, and it does more. MobaXterm is Windows-only, while CtrlOps runs natively on macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel), Windows, and Linux. You get SSH to unlimited servers, a full GUI file manager over SSH, real-time monitoring, and an AI terminal with live web search, plus one-click deployment for Node.js, Next.js, and React and an approve-before-run safety gate. Local-first, no cloud sync, no agent required. We compared all the options in our MobaXterm alternatives for Mac guide.
