"The beginning of wisdom is -- acquire wisdom." This is a Substack for those of us seeking to do so.

As we move into an ever more virtual world that has exchanged wisdom for a mere technical knowledge, the need to build families and communities, to practise being fundamentally human, becomes ever more important. For this, we need to find genuine wisdom.

These are musings on deep political trends from a “Tory Anarchist,” Jew and Zionist, with an BA in Modern History from The University of Oxford and an MA in Library and Information Management. It’s more about the trends that move politics and society over decades than the everyday party politics that takes place over a four or five year electoral cycle. It’s an attempt to find wisdom to let society grow naturally again.

I value my free subscribers enormously. I see it as a huge compliment that you choose to read my writing. However, I also want to offer extra features to those willing and financially able to support my writing. I have therefore decided the following:

Most of my posts are free, including all of my posts reprinting material from my Notes (I don’t believe people should pay for reposted material). The Notes will drop on Sundays; the weekly essay post on Wednesday or Thursday.

One essay post a month will be for paid subscribers only.

I’ve started a chat option that is also for paid subscribers only. Please join me there!

I am looking into extra “gifts” for paid subscribers, starting with an ebook version of my unpublished book, The Black Sabbath and After: Israel, War and Jew-Hate, collating personal journal posts written in the six months following 7 October 2023.

If you would like to support my writing with a one-off payment, please “buy me a book” using this link.
