FastSpring supports Pix for one time and manually recurring subscription purchases from Brazil.
Pix is a popular instant-payment method in Brazil that allows customers to complete transactions by scanning a QR code generated during checkout. FastSpring supports Pix for one-time purchases and manually renewed subscriptions.
Pix is enabled by default for Brazilian buyers, as long as your store supports BRL. FastSpring does not charge sales tax on Brazilian purchases; however, Pix transactions include a 3.5 percent IOF fee collected by our provider, Ebanx.

Prerequisites
Pix has the following requirements:
- The buyer must purchase from Brazil and use BRL as the transaction currency.
- Pix must be enabled in your store (enabled by default).
- Auto-saved payment options must be disabled for Pix to appear.
- FastSpring must collect a 3.5 percent IOF fee on foreign Pix transactions, required by Brazilian regulation.
Customer experience
Pix provides a QR-code–based payment experience commonly used in Brazil. The steps below outline how buyers complete a Pix transaction.

- The buyer selects Pix during checkout.
- FastSpring requests required personal details. If FastSpring already has the information, FastSpring creates a session without asking for it again.
- FastSpring redirects the buyer to the partner Pix page.
- On the partner page, the buyer enters a CPF (Cadastro de Pessoas Físicas) number, required for Brazilian transaction regulation.
- After confirming their details, the Pix partner generates a QR code.
- The buyer has 24 hours to scan the QR code and complete the payment. During this time, the order remains in a

FAQs
How do I enable Pix?
Pix is enabled automatically for Brazilian buyers as long as your store supports BRL. You can manage your enabled currencies under Settings > Store Settings > Localization > Available Currencies.
Can buyers use Pix for subscriptions?
Yes. Pix supports manual renewal of subscriptions, which many Brazilian customers prefer. Pix does not support automatic rebilling.
Are Pix payments processed in real time?
Pix payments typically complete quickly, but customers must manually scan and approve the QR code. FastSpring automatically reconciles Pix transactions to complete any orders that do not finalize immediately.
