Monitor and optimize visibility in AI SERP features
AI-powered SERP features—like Google's AI Overview and Bing's Ask AI or AI Chat—are reshaping the SERP and redefining organic visibility. In this guide, you'll learn how to track your domain's presence in AI-generated answers and monitor your competitors' visibility.
Track your presence in AI SERP features
You can retrieve the Organic positions report for your Position Tracking campaign to check which of your target keywords are eligible for AI SERP features and feature your domain. This lets you:
Quantify brand exposure within AI-generated answers.
Prioritize content optimization for AI-eligible keywords.
The report will reflect results for either Google or Bing, based on your Position Tracking campaign's configured search engine.
Check all campaign keywords included in Google AI Overview
To filter all campaign keywords included in the Google AI Overview results, you can retrieve the Position Tracking Organic positions report with serp_feature_filter set to aio:
Retrieve keywords that are included in AI Overview
Track your and your competitors' keywords that rank in Google AI Overview
To analyze how you rank in AI Overview compared to competitors, you can retrieve both sets of data by including multiple domains in the url parameter and adjusting serp_feature_filter to:
aio,0 to get your domain keywords that rank for AI Overview.
aio,1 to get your competitor's keywords that rank for AI Overview.
For more information on using serp_feature_filter, refer to the SERP Features section.
Check keywords for Bing AI SERP features
You can use the same API request structure to track Bing keywords that trigger AI SERP features—such as Ask AI, AI summary, AI chat, or AI stories—by applying serp_feature_filter set to aai (or aic, aim, ais) as needed.
