Inspiration
Students face difficulty managing large syllabi in limited time. Manual note-making is slow and inefficient. This inspired us to build an AI-based tool that can automatically generate smart and exam-oriented study material.
What it does
SmartNoteX is an AI-powered study assistant that generates notes, summaries, explanations, and quizzes from a given topic or text, helping students with quick revision and self-assessment.
How we built it
We built SmartNoteX using Python for the backend, HTML/CSS/JavaScript for the frontend, and OpenAI’s gpt-4o-mini model for AI and NLP-based content generation through API integration.
Challenges we ran into
Designing exam-oriented prompts, managing fast response time, handling API errors, and maintaining clear and structured output were the main challenges.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully implemented automatic note and quiz generation with fast response time and integrated multiple study features into a single, scalable platform.
What we learned
We learned practical implementation of AI and NLP, effective prompt engineering, API integration, and teamwork in building an intelligent learning system.
