How can public healthcare performance be evaluated through cost, service delivery, and system pressure indicators using official SUS-related data from Teresópolis?
- Measure healthcare cost efficiency through per capita and per attendance indicators
- Evaluate the balance between ambulatory and hospital spending
- Analyze service delivery volume in primary care
- Assess health system pressure using hospitalization and mortality indicators
- Power BI dashboard development
- Data modeling
- DAX measures
- KPI design
- Executive storytelling
- Public healthcare analytics
- Cost and efficiency analysis# Public Healthcare Performance Analysis
Public healthcare performance analysis using SUS data from Teresópolis (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), focusing on cost, efficiency, and system pressure through an executive and analytical Power BI dashboard.
This project explores the performance of a Brazilian public healthcare system (SUS) using real-world data. The objective is to evaluate service delivery, cost efficiency, and system pressure through a structured analytical approach.
The dashboard was designed to simulate a real-world consulting scenario, providing both executive-level insights and operational analysis.
- ~185k population served with an annual cost of ~R$61.8M (~R$332 per capita)
- High primary care activity (~1 attendance per inhabitant/year)
- Majority of spending concentrated in ambulatory care
- Hospitalizations and mortality driven by chronic conditions
- Balanced view between cost, access, and system pressure
- High-level KPIs (cost, population, efficiency)
- Per capita indicators
- Cost distribution (ambulatory vs hospital)
- Production volume (attendances, procedures, visits)
- Cost structure and efficiency indicators
- System pressure (hospitalizations and mortality)
