• 👋 Hi, I’m Teo Samaržija, known on some social networks as @FlatAssembler.
• 👀 My interests are:
  • Professional interests: front-end development, low-level development, and compiler development (see the pinned repositories for examples of those, or watch my videos about compiler development or front-end development in the Latin language).
  • Hobby interests: historical linguistics (particularly the names of places in Croatia, you can read my paper about applying information theory to the Croatian river names which I published in two journals or its English-language summary on my website, or watch a video about that paper in Latin). Previously, I was interested in competitive programming. For example, I won the 4th place on Infokup in 2013.
• 🌱 I’m currently learning a lot of difficult and mostly useless things, at the university. For a piece of paper called diploma, which is supposed to help me get hired, even if I do not know whether it actually does that. I am often feeling stupid because of that. (UPDATE: Now I have graduated with a university Bachelor degree in computer engineering and I am unemployed. I also have a front-end development certificate from the Algebra-Bernays school, thus far to no avail.)
• 💞️ I’m looking to collaborate on ... Well, I haven't yet decided. I am also currently struggling with a mental illness (a psychotic disorder, Risperidone appears to help), so I cannot collaborate on anything right now. (UPDATE: Well, I am collaborating rather successfully right now with @agustiza and @abdrd on my PicoBlaze assembler and emulator. I am still taking Risperidone, and probably will for the rest of my life.)

I've written a humorous poem about the situation I am in now, together with plenty of other recently-graduated engineers:

What about all of those who did what they were told?
When will you admit those are lies that you sold?

You poke fun at humanities,
who tried to into careers turn their hobbies,
you say that's why they are working for Starbucks,
and that's why they aren't making bucks.

But what about all of those who did what they were told?
What about all who gave in to study engineering,
ended up in psychiatric ward for they were bleeding,
please tell me where is their success,
in this world that's such a mess.

You poke fun at trades,
the societies survival ways,
you say with brain one makes money, not with hands,
go ask Hans Moravec how well this statement stands.

You said in school we should ace,
That we should have straight As,
But where is the straight-As student success,
in this world that's such a mess?

You told us learn how to drive,
Now there are robotaxies,
without drivers they thrive.
You told us learn to code,
Now all computers have natural language mode.
When will you admit you sold us lies?

I gave all of my youth for the grades,
But now the value of my diploma fades.
How much could I have had fun,
During my youth that's wasted on the young?
Now I am taking psychiatric medication,
and alcohol and drugs would only give me bad sensation.
