This PR fixes the issue where the python-samples-testing docker build is failing with the following error

ERROR: This script does not work on Python 3.8. The minimum supported Python version is 3.9. Please use https://bootstrap.pypa.io/pip/3.8/get-pip.py instead.

Hello @parthea, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

Summary of Changes

This pull request addresses an issue where the python-samples-testing Docker build was failing due to an outdated get-pip.py script for Python 3.8. I've updated the Dockerfile to specifically download get-pip-3-8.py for Python 3.8 and use it during the installation process. This ensures that the correct version of pip is installed for Python 3.8, resolving the build failure.

Highlights

  • Bug fix: Fixes a Docker build failure related to Python 3.8 and an outdated get-pip.py script.
  • Dockerfile update: Modifies the Dockerfile to download and use the correct get-pip-3-8.py script for Python 3.8.

Changelog

  • .kokoro/docker/Dockerfile
    • Added download of get-pip-3-8.py to specifically target Python 3.8.
    • Modified the Python 3.8 installation step to use get-pip-3-8.py instead of the generic get-pip.py.
