When installing dotnet via script, it is found in ~/.dotnet instead of /usr/local/dotnet

@Slesa Sorry, I didn't notice your PR before and contributed something similar.

Would you agree to step back and support my commit, as it goes beyond your submission (e.g. supporting the Ubuntu package install path and a warning to set the DOTNET_ROOT environment variable?

(Wondering why your PR is still open since 2022. Having the SDK installed in the users home folder seems to be the default for a while now.)
