PhD researcher at the UCD Decarb-AI Centre and Innovate for Ireland iScholar, working on subseasonal-to-seasonal (S2S) prediction of compound hydroclimatic extremes over Ireland. I do forecast verification: measuring how much skill ECMWF's extended-range ensemble really holds two to six weeks out. It's the groundwork for machine-learning post-processing to predict drought-to-flood and flood-to-drought transitions.
Previously a Meteorological Officer at Met Éireann. MSc in Atmosphere, Ocean and Climate from the University of Reading (Distinction); BSc Physics from UCD. Member of COST Action ANTICIPATE (CA24144), the European network on subseasonal multi-hazard prediction and early warning.
Interests: compound hydroclimatic extremes · teleconnections (MJO, NAO, ENSO) · early warning systems · climate services
