What Is This?

A Chrome extension that connects to the AI Dungeon scenario editor. Edit plot components, story cards, and scripts all in one place without touching the AID UI. Copy content between choices, bulk-apply changes, playtest your scenario, and optionally chat with an AI that can modify things for you. I wanted to make things less tedious and more fun~

Requirements

• Google Chrome
• An AI Dungeon account (create one here)
• (Optional) An OpenRouter API key if you want the AI chat feature

Install

1. Click the green <> Code button at the top of this page
2. Click Download ZIP
3. Extract the ZIP folder somewhere you'll remember
4. Open Google Chrome and go to chrome://extensions
5. Turn on Developer mode (top-right toggle)
6. Click Load unpacked (top-left button)
7. Select the extension folder inside the extracted folder from step 3
8. Click the puzzle piece in your browser toolbar and pin Multiple Choice Assistant

Ask an AI assistant for help with any of these steps! If you articulate your question and include this guide, AI will understand :3

Getting Started

1. Go to play.aidungeon.com and log in
2. Be mindful of possible bugs! (optional: duplicate your scenario for extra safety)
3. Edit any scenario (the URL should end with /edit)
4. Click the MCA icon in your toolbar (remember install step #8?)
5. Both status dots should turn green

If they stay red, refresh the AID tab. You need to be on an editor page, not the play view.

Setting up AI Chat (optional)

MCA supports a fully integrated AI assistant that actually understands AID scenarios. Tell it what you want and it'll make the changes for you. You may optionally review before anything is saved. Anyway, it's more powerful than you probably expect, and arguably the main feature, so please try it. 💁‍♀️

1. Click the Settings dropdown in your MCA tab
2. Paste your OpenRouter API key
3. Pick a model or use the default
4. Click the Save button below that
5. Chat panel appears on the right

Troubleshooting

• Status dots are red: You need to be on a scenario editor page (URL ends with /edit). Try refreshing the AID tab
• Changes not saving: Refresh the AID tab to get a fresh token
• AI chat not working: Check your OpenRouter API key in Settings and make sure you have credits
