The UBS AG GitHub organisation represents our firm’s commitment to giving back to the open source community at large, brings together the various projects that we contribute to and highlights some of our wider involvement across the industry.

In 2020 UBS joined FINOS as a Platinum member, the Linux Foundation as a Silver member,

2020 also marked the first UBS fixes contributed to Frameless,

As part of FINOS UBS helped lead the Open Source Readiness SIG and made FINOS project contributions including Vuu during the years which followed,

UBS also joined the Green Software Foundation in 2022 as a steering member, contributing to their specifications

UBS, in 2023, open-sourced the initial sparkutils project, Quality,

In addition to our FINOS board member participation over the years we’re also active on FINOS’ Technical Oversight Committee,

2025 saw UBS continue its support of the OSS Community joining the CNCF as a Silver member.
We have also significantly contributed over the years to Scales XML, the wider sparkutils organisation, several terraform azure provider contributions, to Apache Spark 4 and two new DMN projects as well.

The sparkutils organisation represents a collection of libraries for Apache Spark, including:
- Quality A high performance Data Quality and transformation library for Spark and Databricks runtimes using simple SQL snippets
- Frameless A fork of the excellent Frameless library, providing wider version support for Spark 3.5, 4 and Databricks runtimes
- Kogito-4-Spark An initial version providing a Spark integration with the Kogito DMN engine – releasing soon.
