LeanKeyboard-Handhelds: Keyboard for Android handhelds, TVs, and streaming devices
- Designed for Android handhelds, compatible with remotes for Android powered TVs and streaming devices.
- For Handhelds: Changed some keybindings to replicate those for the Steam on-screen keyboard as closely as possible
- Press Left Trigger to "hold" and "release" Shift key
- Will attempt to implement holding the trigger to match Steam on-screen keyboard keybinding
- L3 Button to show and hide character keyboard
- A Button to type character
- X Button for Backspace
- Y Button for Spacebar
- Left and Right Bumpers move cursor
- Right Trigger for Enter
- B Button to close keyboard
- Press Left Trigger to "hold" and "release" Shift key
- For users using a remote: Keyboard has buttons for switching to captial letters and punctuation keyboard and special characters keyboard
- Doesn't depend on Google Services.
- No root required!
Tip: Switch to other language with language button or by long press on the space bar
Tip: Do long press on the language button to choose between available languages
Install APK on device (Preferred)
- Download latest LeanKeyKeyboard-Handhelds APK to your device
- Access your Downloads folder with a file browser (Files should be the default for devices with Google Services)
- Open the downloaded APK by tapping it and tap Package Installer if prompted for app to open file with
- Tap Install/Update
- Enable LeanKeyboard-Handhelds and set it as default keyboard
Install APK using ADB (For devices without access to a file manager)
- If you don't know how to sideload/install apps via ADB, read this tutorial (e.g. Kodi - How To Install Kodi on Fire TV/a>)
- Download latest LeanKeyKeyboard-Handhelds APK and sideload/install with adb:
- adb install -r LeanKeyboard-Handhelds.apk
- Enjoy :)
