Help us understand the severity of this issue

  • causing severe production issues e.g. malfunctions or data loss
  • blocking next binary release
  • blocking a client feature launch within a quarter
  • nice-to-have but does not block a launch within the next quarter

Steps to reproduce

Icons were last successfully updated in 2023. Not sure how regularly this is supposed to happen, but the google3 version looks out of sync with Flutter's copy. Found these instructions on how to update icons: b/291035365.

For context, Material 3 icons for Google are called Google Symbols, and are available through that internal class, which IIRC is Symbols, and which should have been updated recently. The Material 2 icons available through Icons in icons.dart remain unchanged, as expected. From memory, the link to update icons is go/effortless-flutter-icon-updates. So I think this issue can be closed as WAI
