Freestyle is an intelligent desktop app for voice, writing, and proactive work. Tell it what matters, connect the apps where that work lives, and it can check in on a schedule. When something needs you, Freestyle brings it to your attention and can prepare the next step for your approval.
It is also a fast writing tool: hold a hotkey to dictate polished text into any app, or use Remix to ask, research, draft, and work from a selection without leaving the conversation.
- Scheduled tasks and reminders — Ask Freestyle to check something on a timer, such as open GitHub issues or an overdue invoice. It notifies you when the result needs attention instead of making you hunt for it.
- Connected apps and MCP — Connect Gmail, Google Calendar, Slack, GitHub, Notion, Google Drive, Google Sheets, and trusted local or remote MCP servers. MCP credentials stay on your device, and Freestyle asks before it takes an action.
- Remix — A focused agent workspace for questions, research, drafting, and writing from a selection. Continue from the floating voice surface in the full workspace, where Tasks, Notes, and Brain stay beside the conversation.
- Voice dictation — Hold a hotkey, speak, and release to paste text into the app you were already using. Choose push-to-talk or toggle activation, paste or copy output, and configure models to fit your setup.
- Language and translation — Dictate in your chosen language, or select one output language and enable translation.
- Shape your text — AI cleanup, custom prompts, app-specific formats, vocabulary, and dictionary replacements turn raw speech into the text you meant to write.
- Notes, tasks, and Brain — Keep context in plain-text notes and task lists, and give Freestyle a memory you can read, edit, and delete.
- Approval before action — Sending an email, posting to Slack, changing a local file, or running a command always stops for an explicit approval.
- Companion and plugins — Use the optional desktop companion for lightweight activity, or extend the transcription pipeline with plugins and the Freestyle SDK.
