As you probably know, there is another plant sensor from the same manufacturer that is primarily suitable for outdoor use or for very large plant pots.

The two important differences are:

1. built-in LiIon battery
2. regardless of a firmware update, this sensor must be paired once with the FlowerCare app for “activation”

If this is not done, Xiaomi BLE will find the sensor but will not receive any data.

Once this has been done, the “big one” will behave exactly like the small one.

What else is missing from the integration itself (which I would love to see): the manufacturer's app makes the white LED built into the sensors flash briefly each time a manual connection is made; this would be very useful as an optional button/entity for this integration if one wants to identify the devices.
