Currently, we warn if fc-list is slow, but not if iterating over the fonts is slow, which is actually more likely. Fix that.

Currently, we warn if fc-list is slow, but not if iterating over the
fonts is slow, which is actually more likely. Fix that.
This should help with #17140 (and close it?).
