I think this would be somewhat interesting, but also difficult. My reasoning would be that you only start getting in data as soon as yo connect to the broker. So the charts will always very limited. That being said, a few metrics/gauges would be helpful indeed. Quick overview of things like messages/s, connected clients, errors, .. Charts would most certainly be secondary to gauges because of the limited historic data you will have. |

Concept wise I like the idea, I can see this portable tool being very good as trying to debug problems on the fly rather than a long-term production client sort of thing, and if there are performance issues the dashboard might show them |

Yes, I think an out-of-the-box interface with a wide selection of togglable metrics would be an excellent addition. It would be be handy if that were published over HTTP but for some power users it could also do so as Prometheus Exporter |

If a broker exposes $SYS metrics we could produce a dedicated page / view of these metrics.
This could be some nice graphs / trend lines.
Would this be useful to you? And does your broker expose $SYS?
