On another note, I'm thinking perhaps we should consider moving F.Promise and similar tools to a separate library. I'm not all that happy with Java 8 APIs were designed (CompletionStage has no recoverWith, Function doesn't throw anything, etc.). The Java 8 APIs should be the standard, but we could have an optional open source library that implements CompletionStage and is usable in Play.
