Raymond Iorliam - Software Engineer

Hey, I'm Raymond 👋

Software Engineer · Full-Stack Developer · AI Product Builder

I build web products, experiment with AI, and turn ideas into software people can actually use.

About me

I'm Raymond Iorliam, a Software Engineering student at the Federal University of Technology, Minna and a full-stack developer interested in building products at the intersection of software, AI, and good user experience.

I started out focused mainly on frontend development. Since then, I've moved deeper into full-stack engineering, working with APIs, databases, authentication, search systems, AI integrations, deployment, and product architecture.

I enjoy taking an idea from:

Problem
   ↓
Idea
   ↓
Design
   ↓
Code
   ↓
AI / Backend / Data
   ↓
Working Product

Some of the things I build start as experiments. Some become real products.

Right now, I'm especially interested in AI-powered applications, product engineering, full-stack development, and developer tools.

What I'm working on

🧠 EduAgent AI

EduAgent AI

EduAgent AI is an AI-powered study companion built to help students understand and work with their study materials.

Students can upload PDFs, lecture notes, screenshots, and other materials and use AI to ask questions, get explanations, summarize content, and study more effectively.

The idea is simple:

Give students a place where their study material can become an interactive learning experience.

Built with:

Next.js React TypeScript Supabase Gemini API Elasticsearch Tailwind CSS Vercel

Highlights

  • AI tutoring and explanations
  • PDF and study-material interaction
  • Context-aware conversations
  • Persistent chat sessions
  • Search and retrieval
  • AI-generated notes and summaries
  • Image and screenshot understanding
  • Study planning and revision features

🔗 Try EduAgent AI

🛒 Atrixia

Atrixia

Atrixia is an AI-assisted shopping decision platform designed to help people make better purchasing decisions.

Instead of simply giving users a huge list of products, Atrixia focuses on understanding what the person actually needs.

For example:

"I need a laptop for software engineering. My budget is ₦500,000. What should I buy?"

Atrixia is designed around questions like that.

It combines product information, search, user requirements, budgets, and AI-assisted reasoning to help users move from "What should I buy?" to a much more informed decision.

Currently exploring:

Next.js React TypeScript Node.js AI Search Product Data Tailwind CSS

🔗 Project links will be added when the public deployment and repository are ready.

🧩 Tech stack

I don't try to collect technologies just for the sake of having them on a list. These are the tools I currently use, build with, or actively explore.

🛠️ What I like building

My projects usually fall into a few areas:

Area What I enjoy building
AI products AI tutors, assistants, agents, and AI-powered workflows
Full-stack apps Products with real frontend, backend, authentication, and data layers
SaaS Useful tools with clean interfaces and practical workflows
Developer tools Software that makes technical work easier
Search & RAG Systems that connect AI models with useful external knowledge
Student tech Products that solve problems students actually deal with
Product interfaces Responsive, interactive interfaces that feel good to use

🧠 How I think about software

I like this equation:

[ \text{Good Software}

\text{Useful Idea} + \text{Good UX} + \text{Solid Engineering} ]

And when AI is involved:

[ \text{AI Product}

\text{AI} + \text{Good Data} + \text{Good UX} + \text{Human Judgment} ]

The model is only one part of the product.

I care about what happens before the model receives a request, what happens after it responds, and whether the user actually gets something useful out of the experience.

📚 Currently learning

I'm constantly moving between building and learning.

Right now I'm going deeper into:

  • Advanced TypeScript
  • Next.js architecture
  • Backend engineering
  • AI application architecture
  • Retrieval-Augmented Generation
  • AI agents
  • Search systems
  • System design
  • Web performance
  • Python
  • Web3

My learning loop is pretty simple:

Learn
  ↓
Build
  ↓
Break something
  ↓
Figure out why
  ↓
Build it better

🏆 Things I'm proud of

  • Building and shipping AI-powered products
  • Building EduAgent AI for students
  • Building Atrixia as an AI shopping concept
  • Working across frontend, backend, databases, and AI
  • Leading software engineering projects and teams
  • Taking ideas from a rough concept to a working product
  • Participating in technical competitions and hackathons
  • Continuously expanding beyond frontend development

👨🏽‍💻 Beyond coding

I spend a lot of time thinking about products, not just code.

Sometimes that means designing a better interface.

Sometimes it's figuring out why an API is returning something completely unexpected at 2 AM.

Sometimes it's taking a random idea and asking:

"Could I actually build this?"

That's usually how the next project starts.
