What is Dinosaur?

Dinosaur is a spatial browser for creatives — built on Electron, designed from the ground up for people who think visually and work across multiple contexts simultaneously.

Standard browsers treat every tab as an isolated destination. Dinosaur treats your browser as a workspace. Your research, moodboards, saved links, local files, and collaborators all live in one unified window. No context switching. No losing the thread.

It is free, requires no account, and runs entirely on your machine.

Core Features

Spatial Moodboard Canvas

An infinite, freeform canvas lives inside your browser. Drag web content, screenshots, and local files onto it. Connect cards. Annotate. Build visual research boards the way your mind actually works — not the way folders do.

Stash

Save anything from any page to named collections without interrupting your flow. Pull it back when you need it. Your stash persists across sessions and is always one click away.

Co-browse

Share your exact browser state with collaborators in real time. Named cursors, live navigation sync, view-only or full-control modes. Proximity without a meeting link.

Local File Access

Your file system lives in the sidebar. Browse folders, preview assets, and drag files directly onto your canvas — without leaving the browser or opening a separate application.

Screenshot & Clip

Capture any region, viewport, or full page and send it to your canvas instantly. One keystroke from browsing to building.

Tab Workspaces

Organize tabs into named workspaces. Switch contexts cleanly. Your tabs are not a list — they are a workspace.

Roadmap

Dinosaur is in active beta. The following are in active development or under consideration:

  • macOS support — in progress
  • Canvas persistence & export — canvas state saving across sessions
  • Stash sync — optional encrypted sync between devices
  • Browser extensions — compatibility layer for existing Chromium extensions
  • Plugin API — first-party extensibility surface

Feature requests belong in Discussions.

Philosophy

Not just a browser. A spatial workspace built for the way creatives actually think.

Every decision in Dinosaur prioritizes depth over breadth. We are not building a faster Chrome. We are building a different kind of tool — one that respects the non-linear, visually-driven way that creatives actually work.

Dinosaur merges browsing, research, moodboarding, and local files into a single unified window so you never lose the thread of an idea.
