Update: version comparison is not straightforward. Cut that out because the gem installer gracefully exits if it's a Noop. :) |

Proposed changes
Create a new version of the make env setup script, so folks can just run it and go.
Still trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong on the Gem section, I suspect I'm running into issues evaluating a string against some other data type.
